Capacity

Minimum Thickness

14 Gauge  /  2 mm

Can the Model 6T do thinner material?
It is not advisable to run thinner material on the Model 6T Flanger. Please inquire about flanging thinner materials.

Maximum Thickness

1/2"  /  13 mm

Can the Model 6T do thicker material?
No. Unless the material is aluminum or another soft material, do not exceed
1/2" / 13 mm.

Minimum Diameter

Standard 6T Pressure Cylinder

Optional Small-Diameter 6T
Pressure Cylinder

32"  /  810 mm

20"  /  510 mm

Can the Model 6T flange smaller diameter heads?
The machine can be modified for work pieces smaller than 20"  /  510 mm. Please inquire if you have further questions.

Maximum Diameter

80"  /  2000 mm

Can the Model 6T flange larger diameter tubes?
Yes, A spacer can be placed under the machine base so as to raise the machine higher to work larger diameters. Or, the machine can be modified at our factory for larger diameter work.

Minimum Length

12"  /  300 mm

Can the Model 6T flange smaller length tubes?
Yes the tailstock device can be modified; or, short length tubes can be accommodated by using a holding system that is built into the pressure cylinder.

Maximum Length

80"  /  2000 mm

Can the Model 6T flange longer length tubes?
Yes. The machine would need to be equipped with longer upper channels in order to flange longer length tubes. Depending on the overall length and weight of the tube, it may be needful that a foot is placed on the end-plate of the upper channels which extends to the floor.

Standard Knuckle Radius

A 1/8"  /  3 mm knuckle radius up to a
3/16"  /  5 mm knuckle radius Upper Tube Flanging Roll would be best for thinner material, with a knuckle radius of about
1/4"  /  6 mm to 3/8"  /  10 mm for
1/4"  /   6 mm material, and a knuckle radius of 1/2"  /  13 mm to 3/4"  /  19 mm for
3/8"  /  10 mm material. Depending on the application of the flanged tube in your product, we would suggest a knuckle radius to thickness ratio of at least 1:1, in many cases it may be preferable for this ratio to be 2:1. For thicker material we suggest a knuckle radius to thickness ratio of 2:1 to 3:1.

 Minimum Knuckle Radius

1/16"  /  1.5 mm

This knuckle radius is only suitable for thin material. In certain cases the Model 6T can use a smaller knuckle radius. Please inquire if you have need of a smaller knuckle radius.

Maximum Knuckle Radius

3"  /  75 mm

This is the maximum knuckle radius for the 6T Tube Flanging Machine.
