Blue Valley Head Flanging Machines
The Blue Valley line of Head Flanging Machines gives customers a simple and affordable means of producing a variety of work pieces by using a forming process that has a less-stressful effect on the material than competitive methods.
Our Head Flanging Machines use a method that bends the material in a manner similar to a press brake bending a plate, the difference being that the work piece is rotating through the forming rolls.
The Upper Flanging Roll on a Blue Valley Head Flanger supplies the rotation drive which in turn rotates the work piece. As the machine operator controls an optional Inverter for the Main Drive Electric Motor, the rotational speed of the work piece is adjustable to that speed which is optimal for forming. Also, this Upper Flanging Roll has a radius built into it. This is the focal point where the flange is formed. The other Rolls begin to rotate as they are brought into contact with the work piece.
The capacity of a certain machine is defined by the largest radius Upper Flanging Roll that each Blue Valley Flanging Machine will accommodate, as well as the thickness of the material that is being formed.
These Head Flanging Machines are primarily designed for the flanging of tank heads, which are either flat, dished, or conical. Head offsetting can be done on these machines. Also, the flanging of a tube can be done on these Flangers as well as cylinder offsetting.
These Blue Valley Flanging Machines are readily adaptable to special applications. Please submit to us your sketches/drawings so that we can consider the necessary tooling and/or modification that would be required to accomplish solutions for your needs.
Over the course of several decades we have made many "special" Blue Valley machines to provide solutions to our customers' needs. It may be that we already have made a "special" Blue Valley machine for a particular need that would be helpful in meeting your need. Or, even if it your requirement is new to us, we will consider how we can assist you.
