It is not advisable to run thinner material on the Model 45 Shear. Please inquire about shearing thinner materials.

Can the Model 45 Shear cut thicker material?
No. Unless the material is aluminum or another soft material, do not exceed 1/4" / 6 mm.

Minimum Diameter

12"  /  300 mm
Can the Model 45 Shear cut smaller diameters?
It is possible to shear somewhat smaller diameter pieces with an optional center device.

Maximum Diameter

147"  /  3750 mm
Can the Model 45 Shear cut larger diameters?
Yes, but the machine would need to be equipped with longer channels to shear larger diameters.

Throat Depth

15  1/2"  /  395 mm

The throat depth of this machine means that the largest diameter circle that can be sheared from a square blank without the need of trimming the four corners is 
72" / 1830 mm.

The four corners can be trimmed on a squaring shear or can be sheared on the Model 45 so that a maximum diameter 
147" / 3750 mm circle can be sheared.
