Can the Model 87 run thicker material?
By taking additional passes on the Shear and the Flanger you can run 1/4" / 6 mm mild steel. Although some of our customers run thicker stainless steel material on the 87, this is much more difficult.

At the very least, additional Shear blades will probably be required. We do have customers who work in 3/16" / 5 mm stainless steel on the 87; however, this is very rough on the machine.

​We likewise have customers who work in 5/16" / 8 mm aluminum.

Can the Model 87 Machine run smaller diameters?
No. A modification to the machine would have to be made in order to run smaller diameter work pieces. Please inquire. 

Maximum Diameter

120"  /  3050 mm
Can the Model 87 Machine run larger diameters?
Yes, but the machine would need to be equipped with a longer center rail.

Standard Knuckle Radius Sizes

3/8"  /  10 mm
3/4"  /  19 mm

These are the standard sizes for the Model 87 and are what we keep in inventory. However, we offer any size in the general range of about 3/16" / 5 mm - 1" /25 mm.

 Minimum Knuckle Radius

3/16"  /  5 mm

This knuckle radius is only suitable for thin material. In some cases we can make the upper roll with a smaller knuckle radius. Please inquire.

Maximum Knuckle Radius

1"  /  25 mm

A 1" / 25 mm knuckle radius is generally the maximum for the Model 87.

Please inquire if you would like to flange with a larger knuckle radius than 1" / 25 mm.
