Model No. 65 Circle Shear
|
The 3/8" / 10 mm capacity Circle Shear has been made for over 55 years. This machine is able to shear a circle from a square blank in one pass. By shearing a circle, then shearing another circle from the first circle, you have a ring. When making rings it is sometimes best to multi-pass the material depending on the cross-sectional width of the ring in order to maintain flatness of the ring.
The Model 65 has a 23" / 585 mm depth throat. If the cross-sectional width of a ring is very large, then you may need to consider the Model 65B which has a deeper throat. The Model 65 Shear has a 10 HP Main Drive Electric Motor. This machine has one Hydraulic Cylinder and one Pneumatic Cylinder. The two Shear Blades (Upper & Lower) are made of tool steel. They have a diameter of 6" / 152.4 mm when new. As these Shear Blades wear they can be resharpened. The Model 65 Shear is very fast. A 100" / 2540 mm diameter circle can be cut in about 45 seconds. Couple the Model 65 with a 3/8" / 10 mm Model 4 Flanger, (or a larger Flanger) and you are able to produce many flanged heads during a work day. Or, this machine can supply flat circles which can be dished on a Model 1625 (or larger) Head Dishing Machine. |
